The muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues can develop restricted motion due to dehydration, poor circulation, inflammation, or injury. When this happens, the results are often pain and restricted movement in that body part.

Myofascial release techniques involve the use of the doctor or therapist’s hands, and occasionally other tools, to add dynamic pressure to the connective tissues. This type of helps increase the circulation to the muscles and the hydration of the soft tissues, and loosens adhesions in the connective tissues.

This is also an excellent therapy to reduce scar tissue buildup. Scars are made worse by the adhering of the fascia to underlying tissues.  With myofascial release therapy, the scar tissue can be softened and released from the tissues beneath, causing the scars to lessen in severity.
