Dr. Matthew Steele joined Body Logic in 2017. He was born and raised in western New York and grew up being very active. While participating in high school cross-country, swimming, and track, he was also busy spending his free time doing numerous outdoor activities through scouting. These combined interests gave him an appreciation for health and wellbeing at a young age and a desire to pursue a career in the health sciences. During this time, after having personally experienced the benefits of chiropractic care to address low back pain caused by running, he then began his journey toward becoming a chiropractor.
Dr. Matt received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Clarkson University in 2013 followed by his Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 2016. While serving his student clerkship at NYCC’s Outpatient Clinic in Rochester, NY he completed clinic rotations throughout the city; including Monroe Community Hospital, St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, and the Rochester Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic. At graduation, he was a recipient of the Libero A. Violini Health Center Award for excellence in patient evaluation and adjustment procedures. Dr. Matt took numerous elective courses in ConnecTX instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy (similar to FAKTR), Activator Technique, and Sacro Occipital Technique. He also advanced his training and became certified in both Webster Technique and RockTape applications (a method of Kinesiology Taping).
Following graduation, he practiced as an associate chiropractor in Jamestown, NY prior to moving to Virginia Beach. This opportunity gave him experience working in an advanced clinic handling complex spinal and neurological conditions. Since joining Body Logic, Dr. Matt has enjoyed gaining more clinical experience working in a family practice and has particularly enjoyed the unique role this area offers by serving many local active duty military members, veterans, and their families. He currently maintains licensure in both Virginia and New York and he is a member of the American Chiropractic Association. Dr. Matt still strives to lead an active lifestyle and enjoys camping, hiking, and hunting.
