We are happy to announce that Dr. Matthew Steele will be joining our Body Logic team starting in July 2017.
Dr. Matt received his Bachelor of Science degree from Clarkson University. He majored in psychology with minors in biology and cognitive neuroscience. He furthered his education at New York Chiropractic College receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2016.
Dr. Matt was born and raised in western New York, where he was very active in athletics including cross-country, swimming, and track. These activities helped him to gain an appreciation for healthcare at a young age and an interest in health sciences. After first experiencing low back pain caused by running, he was introduced to the chiropractic approach to treatment. From having personally benefited from positive results through chiropractic care; he then began his journey toward becoming a chiropractor. Since the beginning of his career, he has been inspired by many experiences along the way.
While attending NYCC, Dr. Matt had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients. He completed several rotations throughout the Rochester area including working at Monroe Community Hospital, St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, and the Rochester Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic. He utilized his education to provide a comprehensive, whole-body approach to health and wellness. Additionally, he helped co-manage complex cases with other healthcare professionals exposing him to some of the latest advancements in the industry. Dr. Matt has a passion for educating his patients and to empower others to live a pain-free, active lifestyle.
Beyond the traditional curriculum, Dr. Matt took numerous elective courses enhancing his skills in ConnecTX instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy (similar to FAKTR), Activator Technique, and Sacro Occipital Technique. He also advanced his training and became certified in both Webster Technique and RockTape applications (a method of Kinesiology Taping). Having a broad scope of treatment modalities equips Dr. Matt with the ability to treat ailments of all kinds.
Dr. Matt loves the outdoors, continues to maintain a physically active lifestyle, and is looking forward to becoming a part of the Virginia Beach community while enjoying all it has to offer.
